HISTORY

Specialty Brokerage Services, LLC was officially launched in 2022.  However, our history goes back over 20 years.  Before becoming a stand-alone entity, we were owned by a super-regional insurance company. During that time, we built a meaningful operation, forming deep partnerships with our agents and carriers.  When presented with the exciting opportunity to be independent, Specialty Brokerage was purchased by Tricia Curnutte and Brian Bowerman – both of whom had the privilege of building the operation from the beginning.   Together with most of the legacy team, Specialty Brokerage Services has over 200 years of combined insurance experience ranging from agency, brokerage, and even carrier roles.

Our mission at Specialty Brokerage Services is to provide a superior brokerage experience for our agents as well as to maintain quality relationships with our carriers.  Whether you need help accessing a carrier that has large volume commitments, or you have an account that does not fit within your current carrier’s appetite, we can help.  Our employees believe every account matters, and service is vital.  We want to work with your agency to find creative solutions for your clients.

Our personal lines products range from high-valued homes and collector cars to vacant dwellings and animal liability.  Some of our most popular offerings include private flood, vacant dwellings, monoline secondaries, monoline umbrella, comprehensive personal liability, and more!

On the commercial side of the house, we can entertain virtually all lines of business besides workers’ compensation and commercial auto/ transportation.  Private flood, pollution, professional, products, and excess are just a few areas in which we excel.

We strive to become more efficient and continuously collaborate with our carriers to offer the most competitive products and comprehensive coverage possible.  We continue to look for options that make it easier for agents to obtain quotes when they need them.  We have several rating portals and a phone quote option for those accounts that qualify.  If you are interested in becoming an agent, just click on the “HOW TO BECOME AN AGENT” link above to complete a brokerage agreement and upload your Agency E&O Dec and Agency License.
